Switching from PhraseExpress Server

To migrate a PhraseExpress Server based installation for use with a Microsoft SQL Server:

1. Keep running the PhraseExpress Server.
2. Deregister your license key from the PhraseExpress Client Manager if they still have valid maintenance.
3. Install the PhraseExpress SQL Client Manager which includes the option to install a free Microsoft SQL Server (Express Edition).
4. Register your license keys in the PhraseExpress SQL Client Manager.
5. If you keep the PhraseExpress SQL Client Manager running, the to be installed new PhraseExpress clients can find and connect to the SQL server without additional configuration.
6. Upgrade only one of the PhraseExpress client(s).
7. In the phrase tree of the new PhraseExpress client, move/copy your phrases from the PhraseExpress Server node to the new SQL server node.
8. Uninstall the PhraseExpress Server.
9. Upgrade the PhraseExpress clients on the remaining computers.
