Restore phrases

Deleted phrases can be restored from the recycle bin or by restoring from a data backup (local phrase file only).

Partially deleted contents of an individual phrase can be restored by using the version history.

Recycle bin

Each phrase database has its own recycle bin from where you can restore deleted phrases and phrase folders.

To restore individual deleted phrases:
  1. Click the recycle bin icon in the phrase tree to expand its content
  2. Select the items you wish to restore.
  3. Click "Restore" in the main menu or drag & drop the items into a phrase folder of your choice.

Version history

You can review earlier phrase edits, including the time and name of the editor.

A real time preview shows you the changes for each edit and you can restore any such earlier version.

To restore a earlier version of a phrase:
  1. Open the main program window.
  2. Right-click the phrase you wish to review/restore and select "Restore earlier version":

  3. In the version manager, select the desired version:

The phrase contents field will show a preview of the selected earlier phrase contents.
  4. Press button "Restore selected version" to confirm to restore the selected version.

You can undo/repeat the restoration with the same procedure.

PhraseExpress creates a separate edit history entry for each phrase contents and description change, only. Changes of the other properties (triggers, program or user access restrictions, etc) are not recorded.
