Update check
PhraseExpress can connect to our server to check if your installation is up-to-date.
To check for updates:
- Right-click the PhraseExpress task tray icon.
- Select "About PhraseExpress"
- Click "Check for updates".
PhraseExpress can be configured in Settings » Network to check for updates automtically.
We recommend to keep PhraseExpress up-to-date as newer features may not only add new features but also improves existing functions and update integrated external components to maintain security.
Do not skip multiple major versions. Large version jumps can make your phrase file incompatible, and you may be unable to transfer your phrase library.
The local update check is disabled if PhraseExpress is connected to a SQL server to prevent software version mix-up in a network environment. Please use the PhraseExpress SQL Client Manager to check for updates in such case.
