Restrict access to settings

Access to the settings can be restricted in the following ways to prevent unintentional configuration changes by inexperienced users:

• Launch the PhraseExpress client with the command-line parameter -nosettings.
• Write-protect the PhraseExpress configuration file config.xml .

When using PhraseExpress with an SQL server:

• In register "Monitor" of the PhraseExpress SQL Client Manager, remove the checkmark in the “C” column for the users who should not have access to the settings.

• In the PhraseExpress SQL Client Manager, designate one user as the settings master.

When using phrase synchronization:

• In the user list, choose a user who will centrally define the settings.
